The annual Rome Premature Jibulation contest went down this past Saturday December 15th at Mount St. Louis Moonstone’s Junkyard terrain park. The cold weather drew in tons of spectators and almost 150 competitors. Free hot dogs, Want beverages and product tosses kept everyone fed and stoked all afternoon. Competitors were separated into three groups 18 and over, 17 and under and open women’s. Everyone threw down hard all day with 270's on to everything and switch runs. Congrats goes out to the top three finalists who took home Rome product: Brad Nolan, Bob Strichland and Adam Franks. Also taking home Rome prize packs were Katie Hall-Leah in the Open Women’s division and Ian MacGregor in the 17 and under division. Thanks goes out to the park staff and everyone who made it out.

On September 6, 2007, the WANT team met up to say good-bye and good wishes to new team rider Mike Dionne as he left for his journey back to Calgary for the winter. Dionne, who was first met by team rider Matt Konings, at the Vandorhuf Skate Park in Toronto, ON, was throwing down some sick lines throughout the park WITHOUT brakes! (His brakes has broke a few days earlier.) With some high airs out of the deep end to some of the best toe jams ever seen, Mike was killing it with mad style. Along with Matt, they were doing some high allyoop airs, peddle grind and manuals - it was a good time. Following this, Matt and Mike met up with fellow team riders Adrian Domegala and Kevin Konings at Iceland Skate Park in Missisauga, ON to have a good time with the local riders. Kev ahh'ed the crowd by doing super fats through the bowl and airing over the hip. And, as usual, Adrian was going off with his mad styles, busting six foot airs out of the bowl. 08.24.07 - WANT Invades Muskoka Woods
The week of August 13th, 2007, the WANT team trekked to Muskoka Woods (www.muskokawoods.com) to experience some good ol' outdoor recreation. The team, consisting of Adrian, Matt, Max, Kevin, Jesmund and Brad, and with photographers Jon and Devon, set up at a provincial park campsite the night before heading to Muskoka Woods. After a long night listening to a nearby train roar through the park and dealing with a power struggle and resistance from the park ranger (herein referred to as Yogi Bear), we were on our way to Muskoka Woods. The camp is phenomenal. From wakeboarding to horseback riding to paintball, the facility offers many options for everyone. Our boys were graciously given unlimited usage at the B3 Park - an indoor and outdoor area of ramps for skateboarding, BMX riding and inline skating. The weather played in our favor - mid to high 20's and sunny skies with a light breeze. The team was able to ride with the campers (kids ranging from age 7 - 17) and help them develop and improve on their skills and riding. The team was also able to dabble in dirt jumping, wakeboarding, and the driving range.
New team rider, Mike Dionne, was on hand to give tips on great lines in the park.
Many thanks go out to Paul and Ian from Muskoka Woods, for being such awesome hosts. We are grateful for gaining access to the camp, as well as all their assistance in shuttling the team around.

On April 22nd the Want team, once again, packed up their van and hit the road to Industry Skate Park in St. Thomas, Ontario, where Bill Moffat of Want Beverages, delivered a donation to Brandon Castle, the owner of Industry Skate Park. The donation was presented for the building of a 15 x 20 foot foam pit, a pool like obstacle filled 5 feet deep with foam cubes and is used as a safe landing area for mountain bikers, skateboarders and BMX riders to learn inverted and aerial tricks. Want Beverages thrives on keeping their roots, and staying in the industry for the sport. With every bottle of Want sold 15 cents goes towards the development of action sports and facilities across Canada. It’s a way to be sure that you’re always giving something back to the industry, and helping today’s youth progress.
After Bill presented Brandon with the $1000.00 dollar cheque, it was no surprise to see the guys out on the course as soon as possible. Adrian Domagala, Jason Aguire, Matt Konings, TJ Rogers, and Bobby DeKeyzer weren’t camera shy, jumping right into some huge air technical flips, and all around smooth riding filmed by Brian Hunt and Photos by Kyle Dupuis. Special thanks the Industry Skate Park for letting us throw down in the park. A shout out to Adrian Domagala for going so big he hit the ceiling of the park, and to Max Paul for some of the best fancy aerials twists known to mankind.

On Saturday January 13/07 Industry Skate Park hosted King of Radness contest. By noon the park was packed - they doubled the number of participants from last year and tripled the crowd. The WANT team, represented by Jason Aguiar and Adrian Domagala, was in full force, busting big from the start. There were many strong competitors in all categories.
By later into the day, the Pro category began. When Adrian and Jason had their heats, they were riding well - back flips, tail whips, 360's ... the crowd loved it. On Adrian's last run, he went even harder, pulling everything. On his last hit, he attempted a stall on the wall, got caught up and came straight down on his shoulder - breaking it, *#$^&*! In a ton of pain, he was brought over to the hospital, but later heard the great news of taking first place in the comp. Congrats to Adrian - and best wishes for a speedy recovery. December 28th was a very busy day at WANT. We spent the morning with Bruce trying to formulate various WANT electrolyte drinks. We then proceeded to Industry Skatepark in St Thomas Ontario to meet up with some of our team riders. Included (in the picture) are Drew, Jason, Joey, Adrian, Brandon (the owner of Industry Skatepark) and Bill Moffat. We had the team test out our electrolyte variations for some feedback. Since the crowd was beginning to grow, we decided to run a 1/2 hour best trick contest with winner taking a case of WANT. We had a photographer on hand who filmed the day. Clips will be available on the website by early next week.

On December 9, 2006, Cold Water, Ontario was blessed with stellar snow and winter weather conditions for the Premature Jibulation Event. Participants from all over Ontario came out to Mount Ste. Louis Moonstone to throw down at the first contest of the season. The contest had great turnout. 155 competitors participated in the Jibulation line with each given numerous hits and opportunity to show off their talents. Everyone was invited to hang out at the Rome tent, enjoy a free hotdog lunch and a Want energy drink or two. The event staff witnessed some of the most creative jibbing seen in this neck of the woods. A big thanks goes out to the Junkyard park staff for the perfect set up. Shout outs go to Jesmond Dubeau, a Want energy team rider, who took first place in the contest, and all participants and spectators. Thanks for an awesome event!

Well it was quite the last week. I ran out of Eastern Canada to search for snow and found it in Utah with the Celtek crew.(Check the pics downloads) I spent a few days riding with Bjorn and Erik Leines at there local resorts Snowbird and Brighton. The first day the snow was over 2 feet of fresh powder. It was insane for first day of riding for the year. I got my ass handed to me following those guys down there resort, they know the terrain like the back of there hand. Anyways the new Celtek glove line for 2007-2008 looks awesome for next year. I look forward to working with them. Bjorn and Erik threw a few great parties with lots of good food. I came back to Ontario to freezing rain and finally the start to some cold weather, the resorts in Southern Ontario will be opening up this weekend. -Bill
